Needle book

A few weeks ago I tried my hand at making a needle book, I
have saved the pictures to post at a later stage, but I've been
so involved with the appleblossom bag that I almost forgot to
post the pictures on my blog.
For the needle book I used a rich cream coloured fabric, and
for the extra bits on the inside I used a lovely burnt
orange satin fabric.
This was great fun to do and another needle book is already in
the making.

It's in the bag!

Although it took me almost a week to find pink satin cord in any
of our stores (almost not possible, but it's true)
Instead of finding the pink cord I wanted, I had to settle for
a cream colour.
There is cream cord going right around the edge of the bag (not
seen on the pic)
BUT, the appleblossom bag is finally finished.

The appleblossom crazy bag is now completed, but to my
horror I've noticed that I have no more cream colored satin cord
left - aah well, that means only one thing, I'll have go down town
as soon as possible to invest in that little missing piece that will
lead to the completion of the blossoming little bag.

Appleblossoms

11 Days later, and I'm still busy working on the Appleblossom
crazy patchwork, but I think I will complete the bag over the
week end.

Getting a facelift

The last time I posted an entry, I showed a picture of this unfinished
crazy patchwork with the pretty card in the center.
Yesterday morning I decided to have a closer look, so I made a few
changes, and I removed the cream coloured material that was only
pinned to the bottom of the work, and replaced the cream by sewing
a matching green to the bottom end.
I tried to match the green leaves of the Cherry tree where the
Fairy children are sitting

I have a head buzzing with ideas, but I will keep posting as I go
along with this one particular project.

Unfinished business

I'm all pins and needles , with so much unfinished sewing lying
around - sometimes I really wish I had an extra pair of hands to help me
complete everything that's carefully packed away, and waiting their turn.
Sometime ago I took a fancy to an embroidered cushion cover that I
saw in IKEA.
I went home, made a sketch on a piece of Calico fabric, and started sewing.
It doesn't look exactly like the one in the shop, but similar.
Come to think of it, I could have bought that cushion 20 times over and
over again - because my cushion isn't even half completed.
The problem with me is - the minute I get involved in a sewing project, I
will work like crazy to finish the job, but unfortunately the other goodies
will lie on ice - Must definately change that attitude (First pic)
The 2nd picture shows the start of another crazy patchwork, but
this is the first time I've worked a pretty card into the pattern.
Once I've finished it all, it should look quite pretty.
Due to the pattern on the fabric,I'm hoping that the bag at the bottom
of the page will look a little bitty Indian.
