All things small...

I made two small pink velvet hearts, and trimmed it with velvet flowers and leaves. It does look very pretty hanging on the bedroom cupboard handles. A little extra colour works wonders.
Last week I made two different ones for a friend's bedroom - - but unfortunately I totally forgot to take a pic before giving it to her.

Do click on the pic if you wanna have a better look.

C for comfort

My friend decided to revamp her bedroom, so she asked me to help her with the colour scheme.
We went through most of the colours of the rainbow and in the end she decided on pink.

Without her knowledge I got cracking on a few scatter cushions she can place on top of her bed.
Two of the smaller cushions are also in pink but the larger one, (on the pic) that will sit in between the smaller ones, allowed my imagination to "run riot" again - and naturally I enjoyed every moment of making the white velvet cushion.

All I have to do now is hand it over to her, and then she'll be sleeping PRETTY IN PINK !

Pretty in Pink

Here is a close up of the purple/lilac little violets that I made to place onto the latest small velvet bag. I really enjoy working with velvet fabric - - as well as forming roses or any other flower made from the softness of velvet, but sometimes making flowers with ribbons can be tricky, it tends to slip, slide and have a will of it's own, however, I always find great pleasure and relaxation by making the pretty little immitations.

Here she is, in all her pink glory.

A moth in the flower pot

I've always liked Butterflies and especially Dragonflies, and now I've also added moths to my collection of "I like I like", so the other day I decided to sew a velvet moth, with a little bitty embroidery on each wing.
The rest of the handmade colourful moths are sitting up against the wall in my little studio.
Have I ever mentioned the name of my studio?
It's called LIBELLE, the French version for DRAGONFLY.

A touch of Spring

At this end of Europe we're all in desperate need of a little warm sunshine.
After a long and tedious Winter, everyone's waiting for Spring - but what's taking soo long?

Somewhere in my bones/fingers , my longing for warmer and friendlier weather must be to blame for creating this little handbag with a whiff or hint of SPRINGTIME!
Creating this, didn't take me long - -and by forming the first two roses, I was A and Away!

Oooh for Orange

I've been busy with this small handbag "forever", the background velvet is neither blue nor gray, (click on and you'll see what I mean)
I simply couldn't decide what colours to use on such a strange colour, but to my surprise I used orange trimmings - really no favorite colour of mine.
Perhaps someone out there will like the colour combination enough to "take her home" once she's up for sale. Finally all done and dusted.

Aubergine or Eggplant ?

I enjoy working with crinkled velvet fabric, and creating the pink roses was great fun. Strangely enough, every rose looks different when done.

Rabbit clan

This is what I call my "homework" 'cause I don't make time to sew these little guys( or are they gals?) in the studio, but I enjoy sewing a bunny while watching telly during evenings. They're rather quick and easy to make, but the fun part of the job is to "dress" 'em up.

Before I have too many rabbits hopping all over the entire apartment, I'll have to find good homes for the gang.

The studio

This is one corner of my workroom where I spend most of my days planning, cutting and sewing away.
